Do you make a budget for your home expenses? If you do, do you follow it. Does it help.
I tried, but did not last long with it.

I do not have a home budget. I've often wondered what makes some folks better with money than others and I've never really come up with an answer. My daughter is 23. She has a savings account, a checking account, and an IRA account. She also has excellent credit already. She has friends who sometimes can't afford to go to the movies. What a great topic.

I have a hard time trying. I just make sure all the bills are paid when we get paid. With my 17 month old it's hard to make time for anything let alone trying to follow a budget. I used to be real good at taking care of our money until baby was born.

I tried making a budget so that I would not overspend - since I do that verytime I go to a supermarket. But it really does not seem to work.
I have tried to make a list and buy only what is on it - that works better.

I always buy less when I have a list. I also learned quite some time ago to never go to the grocery store when you are hungry. You tend to buy more.
