Maktoob, the Mid East's largest portal serving 15 mln unique visitors monthly, is looking for a freelance business journalist based in the U.S. to help it keep the Web site updated 24 hours a day.
The successful journalist will work through the day, but take on the role of Night Editor for the portal because of the time difference. The role will cover business and news stories breaking in the Middle East region.
The role would suit someone with wire experience - on Bloomberg, Reuters, or Dow Jones for example - who can craft a simple but powerful news story for a Web audience.
Experience and understanding of the Middle East would be an advantage.
The freelance role pays the equivalent of $4,000 pcm.
The new site goes live on 04 April 2009.
