Do you have times you WON'T answer the telephone? Like dinner time, or bath time?

I don't really have a set time. I usually play it by ear and screen my calls when I don't want to talk on the phone - some people I'll talk with right away (sister, daughter) others I let go to my answering machine and I'll call them back later.

Generally after 6:00 pm.
On a further note (regarding telemarketers), I used to look forward to their incoming calls after 6:00 pm. This became not only routine, but a profitable way to obtain a warm downline in a short period of time.
However, I don't believe that today's telemarketers are allowed that much time with one prospect any longer (listen to their inflections and tone while they went through their speech, then begin my sales prospecting efforts; sometimes, upwards of an extra 5-10 minutes).

Alan,
Oh goodness, I can't stay on the phone with them longer than 20 seconds. They read from a script and if you interrupt them, they start over and if you ask a question they start over and ....

I have call display so I pick up who I want to speak with. I let the machine pick up during dinner time. If it's important the caller will leave a message.
When I had a cell phone as my phone, I would put the telemarketer on mute. Eventually they'll say, "Hello? Hello?...Is anyone there?" lol If I don't want them to hear me hang up on them, I put them on mute and then click off. Now, I just don't pick up the phone if I don't recognize the number and then I put them on a virtual ring after I Google the number to make sure it's a telemarketer.
Yep, I refuse to be a slave to my phone! Sometimes I'm just having quiet time and simply don't want to interruption so I won't answer.
