I was just curious if anyone had ever tried to sell avon from their own personal avon site. If so, any good pointers to get started?

Hi! I have advertised my website locally online because that is the only form of online advertising that we are allowed to do as reps, nothing national. I think I have only ever had a new customer shop my site once or twice.

My current customers are the ones who use my eRep site rather than new customers. In my experience with Avon I have found that most people like to have a brochure in hand to shop from. There is something about curling up with a catalog that shopping on the net can't give. The brochure is also portable so they can tuck it in their purse and take it with them wherever they go.

The reason I joined Avon was because I was looking for a home based business and it got good reviews online. But it just wasn't for me. I just had one order and I quit. I don't think this is advisable for people because once you try something you should not give up until you succeed. But there was something wrong in the system. The area manager gave me the wrong order date so I told my customers they are going to receive their orders on a particular date. It turned out that that area manager lives in a different place where the campaign date is different. So I have to explain myself to my customers. What's bad is, the manager would not even apologize for the inconvenience citing that she was new to the place, etc.

When the orders did finally came, there were items that are not there and the rep on the phone said they were back orders. I said how come they are on the website? it was really frustrating. After I delivered the goods and paid what's due, I promised myself not to do Avon again.
